That is a really awesome rejection -- helpful both in terms of letting you know what did and didn't work for them and also by giving you a suggestion on another market to consider!

I know you're not liking my rejection. :D All writers get rejections. I just think those of us who are trying to make it don't like to talk about them. Like, if we get 50 rejections, it means our writing sucks. It isn't true at all, and I'm trying to break that stigma. I get rejections. A fuck-ton of them. But they show that I'm trying, and with each rejection, I'm improving. And one day, I'll get an acceptance worth screaming about.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something really cool about you posting your rejections here. I read each of them as the posts are sent to my email. And when I hit 'like', I'm not liking that you were rejected - rather that you had the guts to post that rejection. :D

L.,

Took a few minutes to read this as a refreshing break from writing! I love your use of dialogue and how quickly the voices of these characters come out. You really handle the creation of a world in this flash fiction piece fantastically -- I think that's one of the hardest parts is creating a speculative world in such a small amount of time!

Friggin' awesome work. I'd love to read more!
